Based in North San Diego County, the Pioneers Club is a non-profit organization serving a group of enthusiastic individuals with developmental challenges.

 


To empower individuals with developmental challenges by providing enriching experiences that lead to personal discovery.
 

 


 
Program Description

* Practical geography combined with ethnic cuisine and folk dancing to expant participants' horizons and knowledge of the world.

* Applied math to learn money management, comparative shopping, banking, handling personal expenses and accounting. Computer training.

* Dance, therapeutic movement, performing arts.

* Nutrition, cooking and baking.

* Weekend outings and trips which foster social interaction and fun.

* Exploration of career opportunities in performing arts, drama and role playing.

Creation of Employment Opportunities

* Establishment of a small business - a Thrift Shop store managed, staffed and developed by the participants, their families, and volunteers.

Creation of Micro-Enterprises

* A baby sitting business with participants who have received the Red Cross Baby Sitting certificate.

* Selling items for profit at the local swap meet.

* Future micro enterprises will be created according to participant's interests and abilities.
